Before you continue with inserting cost of Goods Sold(Direct costs) you need to create revenue stream first. 

  1. Click the Add Cost Of Sales button:

  1. Name & Type: Name your costs and select cost model type, See more information about different COGS models on Cost Of Goods Sold - Models

  1. Enter Cost Amounts: How would you insert cost amounts depends on what cost model you chose. You can enter a constant unit cost or a varying unit cost. For example if you chose recurring cost amount type, you also need to select time frequency along with inserting cost amounts.

  1. Time Duration: choose when the cost will begin and end (If you think cost will never end over time let it be selected the end date of your plan duration):


After inserting the cost goods sold amounts, see how the entries appear in all three financial statements.
